Change

"Everything observable by the senses is subject to change and therefore in motion....there are interlocking cycles of changes....one cannot bid the winds and waves to cease, but one can learn to navigate treacherous currents by conducting ourselves in harmony with the prevailing processes of transformation - and thus weather the storms of life."

John Blofeld
'I Ching'

'Do not cherish the unworthy desire that the changeable might become the unchanging'
(Buddha)

Change - it's the wild card dealt out, usually against our better wishes at the time. Often, on looking back from the vantage point of time, we are able to see the bigger picture and are thankful for how events actually panned out.

As Guiseppe Lampedusa suggests in 'The Leopard'
"Things will have to change for things to remain the same."

One way I envisage the scheme of things, is to imagine my life as a smaller dream, which is traveling inside a larger, unknowable dream. At times, my dreamy juggernaut bumps up against the 'greater scheme' and at these junctures, I am made again aware of the insistence of change and my inability to control the unfolding of events. Change is occurring through the collusion of time, space and Qi (a range of energies).

Whether there is order or random chaos behind these relationships and intersections, no one can conclusively prove.

I personally sense a background intelligence, a change-provider at work. This intuition stems from the influences of my experiences of:-

Dreams, Visions, Meditative Poise, Synchronicities and general wonderment.

The Tao, as espoused by Taoist ancestors, is the closest I, personally have come to an acceptable notion of the scheme of things.
